in search of a definitive answer, i emailed colgate and walgreens.
since colgate pulled a coupon made available in pdf format once before, i thought they would surely say that a printed version of this coupon is not valid. however, i got this answer...

the response is bit wishy-washy for my taste, but it certainly doesn't say the coupon from the online magazine isn't valid. if you'd like to send colgate an email as well, please do so and report back!
unfortunately, the response i received from walgreens did not answer my question at all...
