i originally did not ring up the duracell. what happened is i gave $5 off $20, then my rr's, then my manufacturer coupons. i had 3 more $1 off coupons for febreze, but the register wouldn't take them. i realized that the 3 rr's i used must have attached to the febreze. i was hoping that since i gave those first i would not have this problem.

so i asked the cashier to add on the duracell to see if the register would then accept another coupon. that didn't work. (then i assumed that since it didn't work, he took the duracell back off. we all know what happens when you assume.) to top it off, the catalina machine was blinking and my rr didn't print. but that's ok, because the manager gave me $9 on a gc ♥

so i lost about $4 on this deal...

the moral of the story is: using rr's before other manufacturer's coupons does not always get you around the 1 coupon per item rule. and adding fillers after the fact does not seem to work either.
