about the newspapers...
long island newsday puts out a cheaper early edition on saturday, so i try to get those instead of buying papers on sunday. the price i am charged ranges from $.75-$2 depending on what store location i go to, the cashier that rings me up, or the phase of the moon! the early editions are sold on the rack with the regular papers.
some of your local newspapers may not have an early edition, or if they do wags might not carry it. i'm sure the prices vary as well. good luck!
